Nha Trang 3-Day Itinerary: Beaches, Islands and Culture

Nha Trang has blue sea, beautiful islands and centuries-old cultural sites. Three days is just right to enjoy it all without rushing.

Best time to go

Nha Trang is sunniest from about January to August. Roughly September to December is the rainy season and storms are possible — check the weather before booking an island trip.

Getting to Nha Trang

  • Cam Ranh Airport is about 35 km from the centre.
  • From Da Lat: about 3.5 hours via the scenic Khanh Le pass.
  • From Saigon: about 430 km.

A private car from the airport or your door makes travel easier for families with children or elderly relatives.

Day 1: The city

  • Morning: Po Nagar Cham Towers → Hon Chong rocks for bay views.
  • Lunch: fish-cake noodle soup or banh can.
  • Afternoon: the Stone Church and Long Son Pagoda with its white Buddha on the hill.
  • Evening: stroll the Tran Phu beachfront, eat seafood, visit Dam Market.

Details on each sight: see Nha Trang's cultural sights.

Day 2: Islands and mud baths

  • Morning: an island tour on Nha Trang Bay — swimming and snorkelling over coral.
  • Afternoon: relax in a hot mineral mud bath.
  • Evening: a seaside café or the night market.

Day 3: Vinh Hy Bay (optional)

If you have energy left, spend the last day on the southern coastal road: Vinh Hy Bay, Hang Rai and the Ninh Thuan vineyards. See our Vinh Hy – Hang Rai guide. Otherwise, rest in the morning and shop for specialities before leaving.

Tips

  • Bring sunscreen and a hat — the sun is strong.
  • Dress modestly at pagodas and temples.
  • Ask prices before ordering seafood.
