About three hours from Saigon, the Ho Tram – Ho Coc coastline feels far wilder than Vung Tau's Back Beach: long sandy shores, blue water and forest right down to the sea. Add the Binh Chau hot springs and you have a perfect short break.
Ho Tram Beach
A long beach with fine sand and plenty of resorts — great for swimming, walking and relaxing, and much quieter than central Vung Tau.
Ho Coc Beach
Set within the Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu nature reserve, Ho Coc stands out for its golden sand, rocky outcrops and green primary forest at the water's edge. Early morning is the best time for photos.
Binh Chau Hot Springs
The area's most special attraction: natural hot mineral springs. You can:
- Boil eggs right in the hot spring pools.
- Soak your feet, bathe in mineral water or relax in a mud bath.
- Walk through the surrounding forest.
Day trip or overnight?
- Day trip: leave Saigon early, swim at Ho Tram – Ho Coc in the morning, soak at Binh Chau in the afternoon, then head back. A long day but doable.
- 2 days, 1 night: more relaxed — stay at a beachfront resort and catch sunrise at Ho Coc the next morning.
Tips
- Bring swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes.
- People with heart conditions or blood-pressure issues should ask a doctor before long hot-spring soaks.
- Waves can be strong at times; only swim in safe areas.
